A leading independent, full-service clinical research and product development firm with global offices is looking for a Business Development Manager. This person is a driven, well-spoken professional, with a strong clinical operations background, with the ability to drive and close new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will develop and foster relationships with key decision-makers at biotech and pharmaceutical companies to secure new business opportunities for the Company.


  • Interface with current and potential clients.

  • Develop appropriate budgets, contracts and presentations.

  • Coordinate bid-defenses.

  • Establish and maintain industry and client contacts for continuing business development.

  • Anticipate and identify challenges and provides solutions in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Proactively communicate with client, business development team, senior management team and support staff during service cycle.

  • Produce weekly summary of key deliverables and potential opportunities.

  • Recommend new opportunities and service offering improvements.

  • Record, maintain and update all applicable client information in the company CRM system.

  • Represent company at meetings and conferences.

  • Follow current industry trends and developments that impact the company target markets.


  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic

  • Articulate in written and verbal communications

  • Diligent in follow-up practices

  • Detail-oriented

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Proficient in using MS Office suite of software (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook)


  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA or other related advanced degree and/or certifications preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the clinical trials industry.

  • Thorough knowledge of CRO and pharmaceutical industry, terminology and practices.
