Recro Pharma is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on products for hospital and ambulatory care settings, currently focused on solving the opioid crisis facing the United States by changing the way pain is treated. We are dedicated to developing non-addictive, non-opioid drugs to alleviate acute pain and ensure patients can avoid many of the negative side effects associated with commonly prescribed opioid therapeutics: addiction, constipation and respiratory depression.
We offer a rich pipeline comprised of multiple unique pain product candidates that could provide an attractive alternative for the more than 50 million surgical procedures that require post-operative pain medication. Our lead product candidate is a proprietary injectable form of meloxicam. We also currently own and operate a 97,000 square foot, DEA-licensed manufacturing facility that makes five commercial products and receive royalties associated with the sales of these products. This allows us the unique opportunity to operate as a start-up with an additional source of income.
inVentiv Health has joined in a partnership with Recro Pharma to assist in the recruiting of the Manager, Commercial Analytics (Business Intelligence) position.
The position will be responsible for innovation, design and management of commercial analytics and forecasting. This function is charged with generating insightful analysis that enables fact-based investment in business-critical resource allocations for both inline and new product development.
Provision of pertinent strategic recommendations to the commercial leadership team and other key-stakeholders which identify potential opportunities and risks for the company based on robust data and best practice analysis. This role will be expected to influence without authority and navigate within the multi-functional Team to help drive commercial performance in-line with business objectives.
The lead will play a key role in both strategy formulation and tactical plans by providing data based analysis to support resource allocations.
This will be an individual contribution role. Will do forecasting, market sizing, strategic targeting, segmentation for medications being sold primarily to hospital and acute care facilities. Must have Advanced Excel and the ability to evaluate and recommend analytical tools. Knowledge of secondary data sources like IMS, Wolters Kluwer, Definitive etc as it relates to a hospital setting is needed.
  • Provide data-based insightful answers to critical business questions pertinent to driving business in the short, medium and long term. Generate insights that help refine brand strategies for inline and pipeline product(s) through creative targeted analyses that assess prospective strategic levers and sensitivities.
  • Lead the preparation of strategic market models that provide insight into market and segment growth expectations which identify brand opportunities and risks.
  • With a focus on continuous improvement, lead the forecasting process to improve scope, process and accuracy (e.g., forecasting methodologies & tools, input & output standardization, brand and portfolio dashboards, maintenance of world class forecasting practices)
  • Provide context and forecasting support to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure the potential impact of Commercial brand strategies are well understood and planned for
  • Analysis of proposed marketing programs to assess return on investment to optimize investment of commercial assets.
  • Collection of timely competitive intelligence, with analysis of strategic and tactical inference.
  • Support commercial team as a subject matter expert member of forecast goals and associated brand and market landscape analytics.
  • Develop and monitor business performance against Strategy Metrics on periodic and ad-hoc basis. Identify areas of strength and weakness and share insights with senior management. Formulate feasible recommendations to management for optimizing near-term growth
  • Identification of key business blind spots and augmentation with targeted development and acquisition of external market intelligence including insightful and relevant audits and data sets and syndicated reports that provide a tangible benefit to the business and efficient return on investment
  • Assuring work is completed in a customer focused manner

Along with the ability to work in the face of ambiguity and proactively move forward, the ability to collaborate and apply good judgement, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor s Degree in business or life sciences, MBA strongly preferred
  • Experience in market analytics, forecasting, market research, data analytics and/or new products planning is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience, in market analytics and forecasting with use of qualitative and quantitative skills and similar market analysis in a pharmaceutical environment
  • 5 years experience in competitive intelligence and secondary data analysis required
  • Proficiency in definition and analysis of business problems and knowledge of the use of various qualitative and quantitative research techniques
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong communication skills, excellent verbal and writing skills, require very little supervision, and should have a solid understanding of the commercialization process so that they can provide added value to the team as an internal consultant
