The MSL will provide clinical and scientific support to key opinion leaders, investigators, and stakeholders in patient care related to Company’s Gastroenterologyportfolio. The MSL is responsible for developing, coordinating and assuring implementation of corporate, scientific and clinical strategies within academic, clinical and health care organizations. Additionally, the MSL will build long-term peer relationships and establish rapport through highly scientific disease related discussions that not only support or expand current therapeutic concepts, but also ensure the safety and efficacy of the Company’s products.


  • Through compliant scientific exchange, builds and maintains professional relationships with external stakeholders to expand research, advisory and educational partnership opportunities.
  • Ensures high standard of professionalism to develop and maintain “peer-to-peer” scientific relationships with key thought leaders in healthcare, academia, payer and government organizations per strategic territory plans and as requested by KOLs, including the management of strategic scientific partnerships and scientific exchange.
  • Provides scientific liaison support to Investigators currently involved in the Company’s interventional or observational studies and investigator sponsored trials
  • Participates in KOL planning, maintains KOL plans and updates medical customer relationship management system in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
  • Facilitates 1:1 and group scientific interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Gains customer insights, opinions and feedback and engages with internal colleagues to connect business opportunities with internal resources
  • Presents clinical and disease state information to a variety of audiences, including KOLs, Medical Advisors, formulary/decision makers and other HCPs and internal teams
  • Serves as scientific resource at key medical, scientific, patient advocacy conferences and company-sponsored meetings as assigned. Contributes scientific input and participates in local medical and cross-functional initiatives
  • Maintains knowledge base and scientific expertise on all assigned disease areas and products. Develops and updates knowledge of all applicable pharmaceutical guidelines, regulations and company policies


  • Advanced clinical/science degree: MS, MSN, PharmD or equivalent is preferred
  • MSL experience preferred
  • Clinical or industry experience within gastroenterology required
  • Has an in-depth therapeutic competency and expertise of the leading science with an established track record of effective and influential oral presentations within the healthcare profession
  • Ability to work independently and to integrate / work in cross functional network of teams
  • Capability to build productive work relationships both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated project management ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Frequent travel required up to 70% and availability to attend meetings on holidays and weekends
  • Ability to use field-based electronic or other communication tools for all aspects of job is critical
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Valid driver’s license
