Takeda Round Lake, IL facility is a one of a kind facility manufacturing Flexbumin, the only Human Albumin in a flexible container.

The Takeda Internship is designed to be both educational and practical. Interns will learn how to take skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting. The Intern will gain a better understanding of the work environment in a specific role and how it supports a biotech manufacturing setting. The candidate will also have opportunities to work with other interns and departments.

Over the course of the 12-week program, interns will sharpen their skills through a variety of experiences including ownership of daily responsibilities, participation in special projects, Internship roles are modeled and designed to challenge interns to learn, adapt, and add value to their teams, while learning new skills.

As interns enter the program, each is assigned a peer mentor to help introduce them to Takeda s corporate culture and values. Through formal training and on-the-job experiences, we are committed to developing interns in areas specific to their education and interest while exposing them to Takeda s technologies, product lines and global environment.

We have internship opportunities in the following departments:

Engineering:

  • Develop energy balances for process operations
  • Execute equipment end of life upgrade projects
  • Improve operation performance on packaging lines
  • Pursuing degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering

Supply Chain:

  • Gain an understanding of manufacturing Inventory Management (Cycle Count and Inventory analysis)
  • Learn how to analyze data and leverage tools to reduce variation (Investigate deviations in process and products)
  • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Marketing, Manufacturing Science, Material Science

Information Technology:

  • Intern will be part of a group implementing a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) into the existing fill/pack manufacturing suite, as well as warehouse management activities
  • Activities may include computerized system validation testing and code deviation resolution, functional testing and implementation of devices (laptops, scanners, iPads, Printers, Tablets), and documentation preparation
  • Pursuing degree in IT, MIS or Computer Science

Finance:

  • Position will assist in the development of material standard costing which includes analyzing current labor rates, material yields and plant spending and developing comparisons and models for year over year analysis
  • Position will use SAP and Oracle operating systems for lite research for populating models and projections
  • Inventory Tracking, Account Reconciliations, Accounts Payable
  • Excel experience is a plus
  • Pursuing degree in Finance or Accounting

Data Science:

  • Help with data acquisition from our myriad systems, developing queries that we can reuse month over month, as well as ad hoc queries for specific issues
  • Assist with optimizing the flow through and between main processes
  • Pursuing degree in Finance, Managerial or Operations Science, Data Science

Qualifications

  • Minimum GPA 2.75
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally
  • Demonstrates excellent skills in oral & written communication, organization, and prioritization of tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline

Education and/or experience

  • Applicants from a university must be pursing a degree in: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, Manufacturing Science, Material Science, IT, MIS, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Managerial or Operations Science, Data Science

  • Current Sophomore,Junior or Senior year students strongly preferred

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility

Working Environment

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • May be required to work in a confined area
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions
