We have an excellent opportunity for a high performing Manager, Finance. The selected candidate must provide thought leadership and demonstrated ability to coach and influence at the executive level and across the broader organization. In addition, the selected candidate must have a proven track record of ensuring safety, quality, delivery and cost are achieved in support of the business strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Provides leadership, strategy, process improvements, and execution for the following key areas of responsibility:

  • Spending: Responsible for managing actual reporting vs budget and forecast for site spending including payroll, supplies, services, depreciation, utilities, and property taxes

  • Business Partnering: providing financial leadership to the site by advising cost center and department managers on finance processes and providing strategic decision support

  • Reporting: Responsible for reporting monthly financial variations via monthly operating review process

  • Month-end Close: Journal entry preparation, submission, and approval of entries completed by others

  • Planning Analysis: Manage the formulation of the budget and forecast for operating expenses, manufacturing variations, discards, scrap, absorption, and other cost of sales

  • Planning Process: Coordinates data input into the Planning tool, as well as the preparation of the presentation

  • Capital: Responsible for managing capital project NPV analysis, financial reporting, accruals, project establishment, monitoring, and closure

  • Audit/Internal Controls: Responsible for the design and execution of internal controls in the areas of inventory, fixed assets, and financial reporting

Key Activities:

  • Financial leadership and advisement to other functions within the site

  • Provide direction and development to one direct and one indirect report

  • Contribute to the coordination of financial audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Providing guidance to all plant capital projects by ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to, ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner and assets are placed in service

  • Correspondence and liaison to Corporate/Global Manufacturing reporting requirements

  • Special projects and analyses as required

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance or accounting with a minimum of 8 years of experience performing financial planning and reporting, manufacturing finance, or cost accounting

  • MBA preferred or equivalent experience

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of cost accounting, manufacturing, GAAP, and SOX

  • A semi-advanced user of Excel and proficient in preparing and delivering executive level presentations using PowerPoint

  • Experienced ERP user, SAP and JDE preferred

  • Plans, prioritizes and reports status on tasks; operates independently with limited supervision, holds oneself accountable to fulfill assigned tasks and achieve timely results

  • Establishes own work priorities and timelines within scope of authority; responds to requests with appropriate urgency and an organized approach; provide guidance and coordinate work activities with others

  • Sensitivity to confidential information is required

  • Strong team player with technical aptitude and ability to problem solve

  • Strong learning agility and focus on quality

  • Committed to customer service with a strong sense of ownership for projects and results

  • A process thinker with a knowledge of service-based organization business models

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced change culture with experience in driving improvements, defining process and guiding business partners

  • May be required to travel for business reasons, e.g. training and meetings

Physical Demand

  • The overall physical exertion of this position is sedentary work

Working Environment

  • Normal office environment

  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a workweek as required

  • Overtime may be required at times
