Lead Planner/Buyer team and represent the team in respective meetings - main contact for Stakeholder.Local Process Owner for Planner/Buyer concept - consistently work on process improvement.Fully substitute/Backup for Planner/Buyer Role - be well trained on all tasks belonging to that role to be back up in case of emergency on human resources.Be prepared to work on new projects assigned,Identify and execute Process improvement opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Main responsible function for continuity of supply for AUXILIARY materials, tracking and issues management of those: - 30%

  • Communicate/Report/Escalate supply shortage issues in a timely and accurate manner and communicate transparent and up to date supply plans to internal stakeholders. Align with local GSP dpmt., SC site lead and internal stakeholders. Lead respective local meetings and represent Planner/Buyer function in project teams. Decide on supply tradeoffs in close cooperation with all Supply Chain Planning departments
  • Prepare/track information on weekly Auxiliary plant status. Therefore lead weekly Auxiliary Issue Meetings for reporting into plant management and push progress at QIT meetings
  • Global Material Owner in case of material supply constraints for items used in multiple plants

Supervision and coordination of the Planner Buyer team at an operational level: - 5%

Fully substitute or support Planner Buyer in case of emergency or shortage of human resources: - 5%

Drive continuous process improvements: - 10%

  • Identify with collaborating department's needs for process improvement initiate improvement tasks
  • Drive inventory optimization tasks
  • Monitor quality of input data for planning process. Initiate corrective action if necessary
  • Lead or at least initiate process improvement initiatives for both process logic and process performance topics

Data reporting and analysis: - 40%

  • Prepare global forecasts for GSP - assure data forecast accuracy within the ERP-system
  • Lead Safety Stock Review Meetings
  • Lead (=midterm S&D perspective) Review Meetings to ensure that supply is in line with requirements and the requested safety stock targets
  • Lead Review of item master data of all auxiliaries regarding Planner Buyer related parameters
  • Inventory review for optimization of inventory level (i.e. slow movers, excess/obsolete, short-dated and expired + related dispositions)
  • Evaluate/discuss/confirm auxiliary release performance through observing release adherence development
  • Consolidate for review and answer requests from Financial department

Administrative tasks: - 10%

  • Ensure availability of working tools/environment for Planner/Buyer consolidation of tools upfront to improve efficiency
  • Represent Supply Chain planning on Audits regarding Auxiliary topics - depending on demand and audit goal/auditing organization
  • Training for self:
    • People Management team (s)
    • Participate in daily production QITs and escalate supply chain issues to supply chain/ planning lead
    • Participate in BOM changes
    • Participate as an active supply chain team member on plant project teams, clinical projects, tech transfer projects, and product launches
    • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Complexity and Problem Solving:

  • Decisions on necessity of escalation of auxiliary material issues acc. to defined escalation process
  • Decisions regarding inventory replenishment and optimization of inventory level, i.e Safety stock level definition, etc.
  • Decisions regarding buildup of strategic inventory (at supplier or in house) together with SC site lead
  • Prioritization of tasks and initiatives within the team
  • Workload balance evaluation
  • Decisions on tool implementation that are supporting and easing work
  • Support decisions for new material implementation at stock level

Education and/or experience:

  • B.A./B.Sc. in Engineering/Science/Business Administration/Supply Chain or an equivalent field or experience
  • 5 years of supply chain or relevant experience


  • Lean/six sigma certification preferred
  • APICS CSCP or CPIM certification preferred
  • ERP systems knowledge

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 10 pounds routinely and/or move up to 35 pounds (with assistance) occasionally
  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility

Working Environment:

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body
  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment
  • Will work in a cold, wet environment
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends
  • Must be able to work overtime as required (only for non-exempt positions)
  • May be required to work in a confined area
  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions
  • 5-10 % travel may be required to travel for business reasons (i.e. training, meetings, benchmarking, networking, etc)
