OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Collaborate to identify potential automation opportunities and work with IT Business Partner on a roadmap for innovation and improvement.

  • Manage and Coordinate BioLife business requirements as an input into the IT driven digital transformation plan.

  • Manage the portfolio of business process alignment projects necessary to enable the execution of the technology plan in operations and other functions to enable cost reductions, quality improvements, donor experience improvements, capacity expansion, operational efficiency, and growth and predictive modulations of collection volumes.

  • Ensures that overall project goals, milestones and budget requirements are met in a timely manner.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs stakeholder analysis and assists in gathering requirements for technology projects as business input to IT during the IT project initiation phase.
  • Accountable for the overall project design and implementation of the business process alignment project plan.
    • Responsible for project oversight in order to maximize the effective use of project resources.
    • Assess project issues and develop resolutions in order to achieve project goals and objectives
    • Manage directly or through a matrix environment, core team members who are supporting projects.
    • Establishes a regular communication plan with project teams, sponsors, and key stakeholders to ensure appropriate progress is being made on projects.
    • Effectively manages trade-offs between the constraints of time, schedule and resources for each project.
    • Coordinates agreed upon scope changes with a change is proposed or needed.
  • Must be able to influence without direct reporting authority, must be able to lead and influence up as well as down the org structure.
  • Responsible for executing change management, creating implementation training plans and defining communication strategies to support transformation and modernization of BioLife technological capabilities.
  • Drive business improvements in collaboration with IT Business Partner to enable automated data collection, connectivity/integration of systems, analytics/decision support, data visualization, speed of data consumption/decision making, and predictive modeling.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential: Bachelor s degree and a minimum of five to seven years of previous project management experience in projects connected to technology strategies in a large organization and 10 years business experience, preferably in a regulated healthcare environment. To perform this job satisfactorily, the project manager must demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills. They must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all levels of the organization. Must be an expert in using planning tools such as MS Project and other planning tools, and must have familiarity with the PMBOK and associated knowledge areas. Experience with executing change management, creating implementation training plans and defining communication strategies to transform and modernize technological capabilities. Must have knowledge of principles such as GMPs, FDA/EMEA guidelines.

Desired: Previous experience with operations preferred. PMP certification & MBA preferred.
