OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

  • Accountable for the full lifecycle (plan, build, run) of network services including design, deployment and retirement/refresh with focus on operational excellence and service level assurance.
  • Demonstrates deep holistic knowledge and understanding of network ecosystems and interactions with other infrastructure systems. Thought leader in aligning organization and environment to future network technogies and cloud solutions.
  • Delivers global standardization, scalability and continuous improvement in network services, ensuring full customer satisfaction with operation and delivery.
  • Establishes near and long-term network service strategies, performance monitoring plans and improvement frameworks considering industry trends and direction.
  • Demonstrates solid technical/strong business knowledge, provides significant direction, handles highly complex problems, possesses extensive knowledge of network technologies, policies, standards and procedures has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Assures that systems and technology enable the business and business processes, deliver information for decision making, and connects employees, customers, and suppliers with easy to use, available, reliable, responsive and cost-effective systems and/or technology.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Demonstrates deep holistic knowledge and understanding of network ecosystems and interactions with other infrastructure systems. Thought leader in aligning organization and environment to future network technogies and cloud solutions.
  • Development of Network services IT vision; translate the vision into short-/long- term goals- deliverables.
  • Determine/manage priorities, timelines and schedules. Set team, group and service objectives.
  • Interact regularly with customers to understand their business/anticipate their IT requirements; manage business relationships
  • Direct multiple team, group or service deliverables to ensure quality/adherence to processes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Provides financial stewardship for all network hardware, software, and services. Responsible for budget commitments and forecasting for the group or service delivery area.
  • Partners closely across all IT teams to ensure a cohesive, integrated infrastructure environment to meets Takeda s business needs.
  • Owns development/execution of overall Takeda Network Services technology roadmaps, vendor selections, and private/public cloud networking support mix
  • Achieves/improves SLAs, root cause/corrective actions & customer satisfaction metrics
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures Departmental budget management.
  • Ownership for Network Services research, analysis, selection, and implementation of new tools, technologies and/or services.
  • Collaborate with Global operational teams to achieve short/long term goals on business growth, capacity, innovation, and compliance; includes working with both internal operations/external vendors such as 3rd party infrastructure providers.
  • Attracts and retains top-talent; develops high-performing teams and global support ( follow-the-sun ) frameworks.

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise:

  • Service inspired/customer-focused delivering a consistent, reliable, world-class experience in the network services space connecting internal services with external cloud and internet providers.
  • Demonstrated direct experience in customer service led network centric operations strategies for networks and network (cloud) services
  • Demonstrated direct experience in core network and cloud network services technologies
  • 10+ years leading Network services & technologies/platforms at a Senior Manager level or above.

Leadership:

  • Must have strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills; global staff management experience; expertise in developing people and teams; project management; and customer service skills.
  • Provide direct development and supervision of global team members, including mentoring, performance management, and staffing.
  • Directs network services provided by outsourced suppliers with on-site and off-shore resources teams.
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Experience in leading a global services organization including insourced/outsourced talent required.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully applying Continuous Improvement concepts

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORALCOMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent industry experience; master s degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in multiple/progressive IT roles
  • 15+ years experience managing complex networks with focus on network disciplines at a Sr Manager level or above
  • 10+ years experience overseeing formal planning, tracking, and reporting on project and staff performance
  • 8+ years of global project leadership and execution
  • Experience working with Senior IT leadership in a strategic context
  • In depth knowledge of network and wireless architectures, monitoring, security control, redundancy, and high availability.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships

  • Significant experience in the following IT infrastructure concepts and solutions:
  • Core network infrastructure for both on-premise, cloud, and DR providers
  • Highly available architectures, with resilient network design experience
  • Cisco equipment focus
  • Wireless technology for the enterprise with highly secure technologies
  • Intense routing, firewall, VPN access technology experience
  • Networking platforms and technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, SD-WAN, VPN, ZScaler, InfoBlox, Firewall, Proxy)
  • Network performance management and capacity planning

  • Experience building consensus among business and IT team members at all levels within the organization
  • Experience managing a global team of on/off-shore FTE s and vendor resources
  • Strong financial acumen, experience in managing large projects, budgets & vendor contracts
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills to drive business value discussions with executive leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership/influencing skills in managing global network and cloud operations.
