As a Thought Leader Liaison working on the Hematology team, you will be empowered to work closely with Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorder Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Strategic Accounts, and Academic Medical Institutions to ensure cross-functional commercial resources are applied appropriately, and a typical day will include:
KOL engagement & management
Local and National Conference engagement
Liaising with marketing and sales leadership
Identification of and engagement with Strategic Accounts
All interactions are always consistent with commercial compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines.
This individual will work closely with and within approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with the other field directors, RBDs (Regional Business Director), ZDs (Zone Directors) in addition to home office-based colleagues, like Marketing, and Market Access. This role will report to the Associate Director, Portfolio Strategy.
The TLL must demonstrate a high level of clinical and customer knowledge. The TLL should have experience with both field and headquarters protocols and procedures. The TLL should demonstrate an ability to engage health care professionals and inform the execution of current and future brand and disease-state strategies. TLLs are responsible for developing and executing non-sales educational and engagement strategies.

Identify strengths and opportunities needed to deliver a winning KOL and P2P value proposition to key stakeholders in the United States across a broad portfolio
Develop and execute an engagement and communication plan for the key KOLs in his/her region
Must be clinical data and scientifically oriented in-order-to communicate effectively with our KOLs
Ability to evaluate and identify current evidence gaps across different stakeholder groups and perspectives within the US
The job responsibilities are focused primarily in following key areas:
KOL Engagement & Management
Align with cross functional teammates, to appropriately deploy resources, like Takeda leadership engagement with the top KOLs, as determined by Brand and Portfolio Teams through influence and centers of excellence, top HTCs and IDNs mapping (Pull-through of our KOL Mapping Tool)
Execute the Hematology strategy for non-sales KOL engagement activities
Develop a regional KOL engagement strategy by identifying, profiling, cultivating and maintaining long-term relationships with KOLs
Identify and maintain an understanding of Hematology KOLs within the Bleeding Disorder community
Appropriately gather market intelligence and information to support overall business strategy
To serve as a resource for commercial teams regarding KOL landscape and expertise within the Bleeding Disorder community
Support Marketing in management of speakers and consultants
Collaborate with marketing for compliant selection and nomination of speakers for peer-to-peer programs, symposia, and product theaters
Assisting with the training and onboarding of KOL speakers, consultants, and advisors using approved decks and materials
Serve as single point of contact to resolve KOL issues
KOL Engagement at National and Regional Conferences
Plan and execute KOL engagements, state, regional, and national conferences, POAs, field visits, and other venues as directed in a compliant manner
Present at conferences and sponsorship opportunities when appropriate
Liaising with marketing and sales leadership - Market Insights
Capture feedback derived from brand needs through live interactions with targeted customers and KOLs
Work with targeted KOLs to obtain feedback on brand-related marketing strategies/materials for hematology
Participate as member of cross-functional brand team(s) to provide feedback on strategy, messaging, and tactical execution and novel programming ideas and concepts
Help with the facilitation and cross-functional planning, recruitment, and execution of regional and national advisory boards, capturing feedback to inform brand decisions
Provide competitive intelligence appropriately gained through interactions to help shape strategy.
Provide recommendations for Hematology advisory board participants
Provide speaker nominations and recommendations to marketing
Identification of and engagement with Strategic Accounts - Speaker Bureau Operations and Content
Assist with on-label KOL speaker onboarding, including identification and/or training/coaching of promotional speakers with approved slide decks and materials
Help to compliantly train speakers on approved promotional slide decks, and assist with completion of annual compliance training
Attend live HCP TLLs region programming to observe, coach, and remediate the speaker where necessary to ensure compliant execution of content
Work with the Brand Leads on new content creation and existing content updates, as well as, new and innovative programing ideas
Manage monthly reporting on approved Speaker Program KPIs. Serve as the single point of contact for speaker logistic / scheduling and working cross functionally to ensure appropriate communication
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
Hemophilia experience or rare disease commercial experience
A minimum of five years of work experience in one or more of the following: field sales, product marketing, agency or medical / clinical experience in the same or related therapeutic area within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success
Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience
Strong demonstrated organizational skills
Strong demonstrated project management experience, including superior analytical and planning skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to execute against strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines
Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary
Valid driver's license
Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned geography, or within a reasonable distance as determined by leadership
60% - 75% travel likely; could be less based on geography
Travel to include working out of the home office once or twice a month

Ability to work exceptionally within a fast paced a virtual environment.
Other Job Requirements
Significant travel including up to 60-75% of any month. This includes possible weekend work for conferences and meetings.
