As an Associate Director, Sales Communications working on the Neuroscience Business Unit (NSBU) team, you will be empowered to develop and execute a communications strategy. A typical day will include:


  • Reports to the Vice President of Sales
  • Works with Takeda sales leadership and cross functional teams to develop and execute a communication strategy that supports business objectives and activities of the sales organization.
  • Provides guidance and support to sales leaders on all communications related matters.


  • Develop and execute a communications strategy that meets the on-going needs of the sales leadership and field sales teams.
  • Work closely with Director, Communications for the NSBU to ensure pull-through of relevant initiatives and consistent messaging across the Business Unit.
  • Analyze the content of communications for volume, scope, pertinence, redundancy, relevance, efficiency and proper medium.
  • Serve Sales Leadership as a strategic advisor, understanding the voice of leadership and determining the proper approach to communicating relevant information to the field.
  • Develop and/or oversee development of communications for senior sales leaders including (video, email and speeches).
  • Act as the central point of contact for internal and external partners for all Sales communications.
  • Work closely with Sales VP, AVPS and Director, Sales Planning and outside vendors on developing messaging and content for sales meetings (NSM, FLM, et al)
  • Project manage, lead, delegate and hold accountable the activities of key internal stakeholders and external vendors tied to Sales digital communication technologies strategy to include meeting apps and other initiatives vital to the enhancement of Field Sales Operations communications.
  • Develop, conduct, analyze and report out on surveys tied to large scale initiatives within Sales Operations and Field Sales.
  • Gather needs of cross functional groups in developing and maintaining the annual master sales calendar of events impacting the Field Sales to prevent overload of initiatives
  • Ensure that all communication platforms are maintained and updated (Field Sales Team Site on MyTakeda, The Stream, etc.)



  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of communications experience


  • Project management skills
  • Experience working within or aligned to a commercial organization
  • Experience working within the healthcare industry

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of the business landscape, strategic objectives and cross-functional operations
  • Project Management - understands unique issues and risks associated with managing projects within a large sales organization
  • Communication ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and issues both verbally and in various written media (e-mail, PowerPoint, formal documentation methodology) in a persuasive and appropriate manner
  • Project Management tools and methods Ability to use MS Project, Visio, as well as knowledge of SDLC as it impacts Sales Operations projects


  • Ability to drive/fly to various meetings limited overnight travel.
