As a Director working on the Gastroenterology (GI) Marketing team focused on HCP Promotions and Competitive Preparation, you will be empowered to lead the strategic development and execution of branded communications for customers across various channels. In this role, you will contribute to Takeda s mission by leading effective programming for the GI business segment. A typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead the strategic development and tactical execution of HCP promotions. Collaborate, align, and coordinate with numerous cross-functional partners (medical, sales, insights, analytics, global, consumer, external agencies) to deliver appropriate tactical mix on time and within budget
  • Own and evolve Entyvio branded communications to HCP customers across both personal and non-personal channels, including rep-delivered, online/digital, and congress channels
  • Enhance and further establish connectivity with Entyvio global team on current and future Entyvio HCP product launch promotions
  • Fulfill HCP tactical pull-through of new Entyvio formulations and associated products,
  • Coordinate Brand Planning process and competitive preparations for team

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead and maintain ownership of overall HCP promotional strategy and U.S. Entyvio messaging
  • Plan, identify, develop and produce promotional tactics, materials, and programs needed to support the brand strategy and objectives executed through all relevant HCP channels (personal, non-personal, congresses, and more)
  • Continuously push for detailed and effective programs across specific segments that can differentially drive Entyvio performance
  • Establish and champion consistent application of best practices across the organization, while pushing for new and innovative ways to tell our story
  • Serve as liaison to the global brand team on all HCP promotional activities
  • Incorporate new Entyvio formulation launch communications and creative into the current set of Entyvio communications for a smooth and synergistic transition to our customers
  • Support new Entyvio formulation programming through launch by owning key workstreams or special projects that arise during the planning process
  • Understand the increasingly competitive environment to ensure the Entyvio brand team is proactively preparing across all functions and coordinating with global brand team on competitive planning
  • Manage direct reports, outside agencies and consultants to meet expected project objectives and hold accountable to agreed upon standards
  • Develop project and tactic assessments and valuations (ROI) that leverage analytics and research to identify successes
  • Remain current with customer, competitive and marketplace activity to contribute insights and perspectives to the broader team and brand plan
  • Own the HCP segment for the annual brand business and expense plan
  • Establish relationships and work with commercial partners to communicate and ensure alignment on strategy and messaging within scope of projects
  • Work with the analytics and insights team to construct the yearly research and work plan to drive further action-driving insights

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor s Degree accompanied by minimum of seven (7) years experience with increasing responsibilities in sales, marketing or related function in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry and 3+ years in pharmaceutical sales
  • Specialty and/or Immunology therapeutic knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, positively influence co-workers toward common goals, foster collaboration and enable teamwork with ability to set priorities and demonstrate leaderships traits
  • Deep understanding of the brand/franchise and how to effectively engage HCPs
  • Experience in developing marketing strategy and tactic design with an ability to communicate ideas to internal partners and external agencies
  • Ability to thoroughly learn the market, the disease state and the product quickly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and listening skills, ability to develop important relationships with multinational stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific / medical concepts of drug products to key external audiences in the medical community
  • Proven ability to quickly establish credibility with diverse audiences with a track record of influencing skills
  • Capable of leveraging data and analytics to distill insights and drive data-based decision making
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing large budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • Must thrive working in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, fast-changing environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient
  • Exhibit knowledge of, and adhere to, all applicable healthcare laws and regulations, industry practices and company policies related to pharmaceutical marketing and promotion
  • Proven track record in specialty markets and experience with product life cycle management is desirable
  • Project management skills prioritization, workflow process, communication

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires approximately 10-20% travel
  • Willingness to travel to various meetings, field visits and will include overnight. Some weekend and/or international travel may be required
