  • Enhances asset value by owning and driving digital strategy and early execution/delivery
  • Works with project teams to lead concept design and early execution of digital solution development
  • Partners with Therapeutic Area leadership to jointly prioritize programs that would benefit most from digital solutions
  • Engages internal and external subject matter experts (e.g., digital KOLs, patients, academia) to refine approach to solving unmet needs and to design/identify optimal solutions to enhance asset value
  • Works with peers within Digital Strategy group to develop portfolio view of needs and asset-level solutions
  • Partners closely with Data Architecture and ISIT to enable common prioritization of complex R&D digital deliverables
  • Collaborates with Takeda Center for External Innovation (CEI), Takeda IT, DSI colleagues, and external partners to select appropriate technology platforms and vendors for efficient solution development and deployment
  • Participates in key project team meetings as needed and serves as a liaison between internal and external partners (manages up to 6 project teams)
  • Partners with R&D leadership and learning to identify platforms and opportunities for scalable experiential digital learning (to build comfort with digital concepts and approach)
  • Maintains and expands a network of internal and external partners to facilitate technology implementation (devices, applications, platform solutions), data collection, analysis, and interpretation in clinical trials
  • Works with internal and external partners to monitor the eco system for emerging technologies and novel biomarkers, measurement techniques, or data sources, and critically evaluates there technologies, providing recommendations for implementation


  • BS/BA degree (MS, MBA, Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree preferred) with 10+ years relevant experience required.
  • Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables
  • Operational experience in pharmaceutical drug development with significant direct exposure to clinical development
  • Health care business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Self-directed with eternal curiosity and desire to learn
  • Strong external network in innovative digital technologies (e.g., innovators in academia and startups)
  • Proven experience in learning from failure
