As a Resiliency Programs Manager working as part of the Security and Intelligence team within the Takeda Security Department, you will be empowered to assist in the development, execution and management of the strategic and tactical approaches relative to crisis management and business continuity to ensure protection and enhancement of Takeda s value, reputation, brand and image, and a typical day will include:
  • Responsible for US Business Unit (USBU) and Deerfield campus (DF) overall Business Continuity Management (BCM) and resiliency initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of BCM annual strategy, vision, standards and delivery plan(s) and associated content.
  • Drafts and implements CM/BC policies and procedures for cross-functional teams of personnel within the USBU and DF. Supports the business to draft documentation related to CM/BC programs, reviews all submittals for completeness and seeks approval.
  • Ensures that CM/BC policies, plans and procedures are developed in alignment with global CM/BC policies.
  • Fosters support for BCM programs by driving understanding and acceptance of the concepts, regulatory requirements, business imperatives and return on investment from successful BCM programs. Monitors the BCM program for audit and regulatory compliance.
  • Participates in briefings to executive leadership and security management regarding methodologies, requirements and strategies for USBU contingency planning, as required.
  • Coordinates the USBU and Deerfield CM/BC programs; develops and maintains the Deerfield Crisis and Incident Management Plan (DCIMP) while working with individual functional groups to develop their BC plans.
  • Oversees the training, awareness, preparedness, exercise, testing and maintenance of the enterprise contingency program across all USBU functions and departments.
  • Supports development of Security s emergency response programs.
  • Conducts assessments and audits of BCM activities, develops and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and presents on progress and findings to the USBU and Global Crisis Management Office (GCMO) regarding initiatives and compliance with BCM. Initiates changes in strategy and participates in continuous improvement as appropriate to ensure effectiveness.
  • Develops and administers budget plans for BCM including operating and capital budgets. Tracks all expenditures and provides accruals on approved budgets and resources.
  • Updates and maintains the Pandemic Preparedness Plan for the USBU and DF.
  • Stages and executes tabletop drills and exercises for the USBU and DF.
  • Conducts After Action Reviews around any significant BCM activations and shares lessons with stakeholders including the Deerfield Crisis and Incident Management Team (DCIMT) and GCMO.
  • Provides effective and appropriate communication to key stakeholders and fosters extensive communication and interaction with internal customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Serves on the DCIMT as the Business Continuity Coordinator to support and coordinate BC efforts of functions at the Deerfield campus and for field based USBU personnel.
  • Manages all BCM content within SharePoint site(s) ensuring appropriate document lifecycles are maintained including all BCM training materials, contact lists and other documentation.
  • Prepares periodic BCM program reports, ad hoc analysis and presentations, as required.
  • Evaluates and implements alternative communication channels to be used during a disaster.
  • Attends internal/external meetings, seminars, conventions, etc., to expand professional expertise and maintains professional contacts that support assigned functions.
  • Assists other offices/locations and the GCMO as practical and other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor s degree required, master s degree desired.
  • 3+years resiliency and crisis management experience.
  • 3+years experience with medium to large project management.
  • Proven experience building/elevating and managing a comprehensive, integrated resiliency/crisis management program within a medium to large corporation.
  • Prior participation in managing crisis, incident and communications response in a mid-level or higher role.
  • Record of delivering quality results in crises, working under pressure and showing decisiveness in difficult situations.
  • Strong organization, planning, and program/project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking expertise, attention to detail skills and the ability to see the big picture.
  • Self-motivating and self-directing leadership that is proactive, independent and responsive.
  • Understand how to serve as a leader/champion of a program with confidence and the ability to influence others without authority.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with previous public speaking and executive level presentation experience.
  • Experience with automated notification systems and BCP software development tools.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Risk Management, Change Management, Business Process Engineering and hazardous materials concepts.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • FEMA Professional Development Series Certificate (FEMA PDS)
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
  • Willingness to travel to various meetings, training or Takeda facilities, including overnight and weekend trips. Some international travel may be required.
