As a Senior Research Associate, Formulations working on the Formulation Development team, you will be empowered to execute complex experiments and unit operations. You will participate in planning unit operations/experiments under supervision and drafting support documentation
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
In this role you will be developing pharmaceutical formulation of solid orals and/or parenterals. You will be developing and evaluating dosage forms such as powder flow, granulation, compaction, disintegration, dissolution and stability.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Developing pharmaceutical formulation of solid orals and/or parenterals.
  • Contributing significantly to project work which may include multiple projects within functional area.
  • Interpreting data independently, and contributes to technical reports
  • Identifying complex technical issues, and implements solutions under supervision
  • Contributing to the design of new applications/experiments/unit operations in consultation with your supervisor.
  • Supporting technology transfer through writing and consolidating technical documents.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 2+ years relevant industry experience
  • Masters degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 0+ years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledgeable about various concepts of dosage form development and evaluation such as powder flow, granulation, compaction, disintegration, dissolution and stability.
  • Familiarity with physical chemistry concepts including thermodynamics, ionic equilibria, colloids, chemical kinetics, complexation, rheology and interfacial phenomenon.
  • Exposure to principles of aseptic manufacturing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods HPLC, IR, DSC, SEM, and particle size characterization.
  • Familiarity with statistical principles for experimental design and data analysis preferred.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • May require approximately 5% travel.
