Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a GMA Research Systems Manager working on the Medical Affairs team, you will be empowered to make meaningful contributions, and a typical day will include:


  • Oversee and manage all database, reporting, and analytic systems used by GMA Research
  • Manage external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth function and utilization of systems and software
  • Independently identify and execute solutions to optimize GMA Research processes through better use of existing systems and introduction of new systems


  • Oversee and manage Investigator Initiated Sponsored Research (IISR) and Medical Affairs Company Sponsored (MACS) tracking systems including but not limited to access, technical training, configuration cycles, system updates, and helpdesk activities
  • Routinely review existing systems and GMA Research processes to identify and deliver opportunities to maximize efficiency of GMA Research personnel through technology solutions
  • Manage external vendors providing system and software solutions to ensure GMA Research needs are met
  • Lead business intelligence operations to monitor status of GMA Research program and provide framework required to generate answers to business questions
  • Author and maintain best practice documentation and training materials related to GMA Research systems
  • Serves as internal expert and liaison between GMA Research Operations and Specialty Business Systems to ensure efficient transfer of data within Takeda systems


  • Bachelor s Degree
  • 7+ years system management experience
  • Extensive experience with trial database management and administration
  • Ability to leverage data analysis and visualization software
  • Experience with building reports, forecast models, and dashboards on multiple platforms
  • Experience with implementing and operating database and analytics programs in a global environment
  • Ability to manage external vendors
  • Experience with large-scale database transfers
  • Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner
  • Ability to write and speak in the English language
  • Pharmaceutical industry and drug development experience
  • In-depth experience with Investigator Initiated Trials


  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or vendor sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required
  • Requires approximately 5 % travel
