As a Director, Specialty Business Unit Strategy working on the Specialty Business Unit team, you will be empowered to build, develop and manage a portfolio of processes and initiatives that will develop and maintain the long term strategic direction of the Specialty Business. A typical day will include:
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
  • Development and maintenance of the SBU Portfolio strategy.
  • Creating a partnership with New Product Planning to assist in the evaluation of Business Development opportunities for the Specialty Business Unit.
  • Develop analyses and presentations to support business development and/or commercialization, planning and investment decisions.
  • Lead commercial strategic planning efforts for Entyvio and any newly acquired pipeline assets in the Specialty BU.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Work with teams within and outside the Business Unit to create effective, positive partnerships and ensure alignment of business needs and objectives.
  • Stay abreast of the external landscape, including industry and market trends and provide analysis and recommendations on how those external trends may affect Takeda.
  • Develop a commercial launch strategy for Entyvio that aligns with long term Entyvio brand objectives.
  • In partnership with Project Management Office, provide leadership in all cross-functional launch planning activities for Entyvio in the US.
  • Act as the main point of contact for US Specialty BU business development opportunities.
  • Provide commercial input into analyses and provide recommendations to senior management.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelors degree BS/BA, MBA or Master s Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategy development, product management and/or project planning experience in the life-sciences industries
  • Knowledge of forecasting, pricing and reimbursement disciplines
  • Experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical business development
  • In-depth knowledge of the specialty market and overall trends
  • Experience across several therapeutic areas and acumen to learn new ones quickly

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings, attend meetings on a local and national basis, and training
  • Overnight travel to support teams
  • Travel up to 15%
