The Sales Training Department designs, builds and delivers in house and remote sales training curriculum for the Takeda sales force that promotes sales and brand strategies and enhances overall sales force effectiveness.
The Sales Trainer conducts training for new and existing sales representatives focused on: clinical knowledge selling skills, managed markets, marketplace knowledge, and application of business tools to drive sales success. The Sales Trainer also partners with internal cross functional teams to include brand teams, sales leadership and sales training operations to develop sales training that meets the needs of our sales force.


Leads Initial and On-Going Sales Training Events
  • Facilitates in-house and remote training on selling skills, product & clinical knowledge, managed markets, marketplace knowledge and application of business tools.
  • Provides specific feedback and coaching to new trainees and experienced representatives within the training environment.
  • Constructs trainee evaluations and communicates observations directly to trainee during one on one coaching sessions. Sends evaluations to the trainee s manager and communicates with the sales training management team as appropriate.
  • Administers exams and communicates scores to trainees.
  • Provides instruction to District Managers on how to execute and facilitate on-demand training initiatives
  • Periodically conducts field visits with representatives to assess sales force needs and build personal awareness to market dynamics.
Develops and/or Refines Training Curriculum to Meet Business Needs
  • Makes recommendations (based on course evaluations and field management feedback) to revise/enhance training curriculum.
  • Participates in the development of training materials, in conjunction with other members of the training department and the commercial organization.
  • Works directly with a Project Manager to ensure that new and reconstructed training materials are delivered in timely manner.
  • Participates in strategic projects designed to drive sales and brand strategies.
Responsible to stay Current with Clinical and Marketplace Knowledge
  • Participates in marketing meetings, self-study, and field travel to increase and maintain understanding of sales and brand strategies, marketplace awareness and product knowledge across product assignment.
  • Complies with all Takeda Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct and ensures that all activities, observed or taught, are also in accordance with these guidelines.


  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Cumulative of four years of pharmaceutical/healthcare related* or teaching/training experience (*Healthcare experience to include but not limited to: healthcare sales, clinical experience, clinical education and research) with a minimum 1 year sales experience with Takeda
  • Strong clinical, selling skills and marketplace knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in project management and developing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Previous training experience desired (i.e. District Trainer, District Computer Expert/TRxpert, District Marketing Specialist, District Liaison/Managed Care Liaison, Business Lead, Product Lead, Training Lead)
  • Experience in coaching and providing feedback.

  • Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.
  • Requires approximately 25 % travel.
