Responsible for overseeing the compliant promotion of TAKEDA Pharmaceuticals, Inc. products, as well as leading a specified Regional Account Manager team within an assigned regional geography. The Regional Business Director position is field based, and located within an assigned geographic region.The RBD role has responsibility for executing national brand strategy, developing regional based strategy for the Regional Account Managers and delivering on established performance goals.Main job functions include the following; Development of RAM s, Coaching his or her specified team, Insuring all commercial function are executed in a compliant manner, working within a dedicated budget, and executing national as well as regional strategy.


  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate direct reporting staff according to company procedures and policies.
  • Obtains commitments from sales representatives to ensure that the sales strategy and sales plan is successful in assigned territory.
  • Oversees handling of key accounts and provides a high level of scientific expertise and ensures customer service to all accounts.
  • Assists in the development and execution for major programs to meet sales objectives.
  • Calls on targeted customers, provides technical and administrative product information and educational programs.
  • Responsible for new account development and/or expanding existing accounts within established territory.
  • Creates, builds and maintains relationships with physicians, key office personnel and key thought leaders.
  • Ensure team and personal compliance with applicable laws and regulations concerning interaction with HCPs, product sampling and appropriate dissemination of literature and information.
  • Strong business acumen and analysis of regional business trends and opportunities
  • Drive for results; establishes goals, manages resources and achieves goals with limited supervision
  • Accountable for executing marketing plans and driving for results
  • Execution and delivery of quarterly business reviews as indicated by the National Sales Director
  • Working with Manager of Sales Operations on analysis, and regional breakdown to determine product opportunity
  • Interaction and partnership with brand marketing team, and US Medical Liaison team, Corporate Account Directors, Trade & Distribution Manager, along with Learning and Development / Training Department
  • Attending and participating in key regional and national medical and educational conferences such as; American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, and critical GPO related events.


  • Ten plus years experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry.
  • 5+ years experience of direct Oncology leadership experience.
  • Comprehension and delivery of oral based products within the oncology or hematology space
  • Proven ability to manage a large geographical territory.
  • Track record of being able to lead others both by example and through direct authority.
  • Documented sales success and strong established relationships in assigned territory.
  • High science aptitude and proven ability to coach teach and train.

Functional/Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited University or advanced degree up to and including Masters Degree
  • Dynamic, self-starter with strong influential skills, as well as entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to develop and use effective sales tactics to optimize new accounts within assigned territory
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong, professional relationships
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Commercial, Regulatory and technical awareness
  • The ability to navigate a large multi-disciplinary geography which would require travel 50 60% of the work time
  • Possession of valid US Driver s License in good standing
