matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a Technical Architect working on the Network Infrastructure team, a typical day will include:
Serves as domain expert and principal designer for major infrastructure within area of specialization.
Develops the strategic vision with IT Management for area of responsibility.
Analyses the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and researches/evaluates alternative solutions while weighing costs, efficiencies, and industry best practices to provide recommended solution within area of responsibility.
Primary developer of global network services architectural strategy, including technology and services standardization, consolidation and modernization of existing network infrastructure solutions and services.
Research and write reference architectures and strategic roadmaps for network infrastructure technologies and solutions for various infrastructure initiatives to ensure network reliability and performance to meet business need.
Evaluate new solutions and technologies to maintain or improve network reliability and performance. Provides oversight and/or contributes to key projects to deliver solutions and services which align with overall business objectives.
Seeks out and collaborates with IT Service Delivery, IT Business Support teams, and key business colleagues to ensure existing solutions and architecture continue to meet the business need.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Bachelor s degree and five years IT experience, or High School Diploma and seven years of IT experience
Minimum 5 years experience with infrastructure, systems, applications or services within area of responsibility
Strong working knowledge of the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure and solutions that provide network services to diverse compute/storage/security technologies in a multi-site and hybrid global enterprise level environment that includes scalable cost effective solutions that balance network scalability, reliability, cost, and performance.
Strong working knowledge of network switching, routing, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs), switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers (LBs), related security and network devices.
Strong working knowledge of networking technology solutions and tools including Riverbed WAN Optimizers, F5 Load Balancers, Netscalar Load Balancers, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Access Control System (ACS), Flute Netflow, NaGIOS, and HP Network Node Manager.
Strong working knowledge of the Cisco network and security routing and switching product line and advanced level Cisco switching and routing.
Strong working knowledge and hands on experience with most common L2 through L4 data networking protocols and technologies including Ethernet, SONET, Optical, MPLS, WLAN 802.11g/n/ac, TCIP, UDP, RTP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, DNS, DHCP, ACL s, QoS, and SNMP.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 to 2012R2 and WIN7, Unix/Linux, hypervisor and compute virtualization, perimeter and host based firewalls, authentication, cryptography, XenDesktop/XenApp, business continuance/DR, database, SAN and VoIP. Must be fully conversant up and down the technology stack.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision showing proven ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and tasks and successfully manage multiple engagements that may require additional resources.
Excellent skills in building multi-cultural relationships via strong collaboration and communication skills.
Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences. Experience of with working with board level stakeholders.
Strong critical thinker with problem solving aptitude
Experienced cross-team leader to ensure successful delivery of solutions
Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills
Strong experience of developing Services Orientated Architectures (SOA)
Excellent knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or the equivalent
Deep knowledge of technology in their domain area
Ability to write and speak in the English language
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or information systems is preferred
CISSP, Cisco CCIE, ITILv3 accreditation is a plus but not required
Strong working knowledge of network security concepts, policies and technologies.
Pharmaceutical IT infrastructure support with system validation processes desired experience desired
Experience implementing and supporting network services and infrastructure in a large, complex, global enterprise environment or equivalent strongly desired.
Previous experience with infrastructure support outsourcing and/or vendor management desired.
Bilingual in English/Japanese written & verbal communications a plus but not required.
