  • Provides leadership to the Manufacturing System Community and especially on the analysis and technical expertise with a focus on complex IT solutions within Manufacturing systems
  • Uses knowledge of business operations and business problems to translate these into possible and future solutions and is able to translate these into applications or other IT solutions
  • Defines and establishes designs on all technical aspect for assigned projects within Manufacturing
  • In defining, establishing and delivering solutions on a local scale - aligned globally on governance and lifecycle - the outcomes of the system support are significant for the performance and results of local and global manufacturing execution


  • Identifies and solves complex problems within the implementation and maintenance of manufacturing execution system (MES) modules - from Pas-X and interfaces to SAP ERP globally and locally
  • Identifies opportunities and business needs based on the user enhancement requests to support one or more solutions
  • Contributes to detailed roadmap developments of complex software or solution systems platforms working directly with the business and various IT groups
  • Influences local and global leadership on designed solution, further development and maintenance and has a measurable impact on at least short-term results in manufacturing systems
  • Manages, mentors or provides guidance in global Takeda MES roll-out and OEE projects
  • Ensures continued support to sites where Takeda SAP MES has been implemented
  • Ensures the maintenance of software solutions, including analysis, design, configuration, implementation (inclusive roll-out/2nd level support), transfer to organizational standards and corresponding documentation aligned to enterprise architecture, implementation and quality standards
  • Ensures documentation according to Takeda QMS standards, policies and procedures
  • Develops hardware and software vendor knowledge on shop floor solution used in the group (Werum, Siemens, Yokogawa...), manage the relationship together with business owners
  • Ensures Key User and End User training on site or remotely with experts
  • Contributes to the annual budgeting process and manages the MES area to budget.
  • Leads the team of IS/IT MES experts and manage the relation with local IS/IT Team
  • Leads teams of technical solution specialists to deliver agreed IT solutions, supporting strategic objectives and cost effectiveness
  • Maintains strong relationships with global business owners and local site IT users as well as suppliers to ensure optimal IT solutions
  • Uses the specialized comprehensive manufacturing knowledge to drive operational and financial performance globally and locally on manufacturing sites
  • Is a specialize senior professional and provides expertise in and influences the global and local organization on MES solutions and interfaces, ASI 95 standards and executing software in a Pharma Environment
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise in serialization, track and trace, manufacturing performance and the developments for this legal requirements and potential uses of this information for supply chain
  • You will manage up to 2 direct reports and up to 8-10 indirect reports



  • More then 7 years of relevant experiences
  • Knowledge of and experience with SAP configuration and deployment of Manufacturing Execution system
  • Work experiences with business processes for warehouse management and packaging and partnering with business area leaders to plan, to advise and implement projects
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical industry requirements
  • Ability to communicate with users to interpret their requirements and implement technically.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, business acumen with problem solving and analytical skills
  • International Travel will be required
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%


  • Experience with the design and development of pharmaceutical life sciences software or solutions
  • Several years of Pas-X Werum experience in manufacturing team
  • Familiarity with regulated systems high level understanding of digital systems validation
