We are looking for a manager with extensive lab experience to develop, optimize and lead implementation of genomics assays for Takeda R&D pipeline. This person will work with internal groups and outside organizations to assess innovative genomic assay methods.


  • Responsible for the development of all aspects of the sequencing assays to cover Gastro-Intestinal (GI) therapeutic area.
  • Responsible for or participation in the design and execution of sequencing experiments with GI-DDU and TAU
  • Manages experiments aimed at assessing the ongoing performance and collaborating to execute the microbiome experiments
  • Responsible forevaluation ofthe performance of various technology componentsworking closely with Translational biomarker research (TBR) group
  • Responsible for assisting GI teams with implementation of molecular profiling within their clinical studies
  • Collaborate with Data Architecture and Computational Biology to implement the sequencing data infrastructure
  • Work closely with GI-DDU to implement data analysis strategies in target discovery and validation stages




  • Strong genomics and assay development background
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across multiple organizations, in multicultural environment
  • Strong background in next generation sequencing assay technologies
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently
  • Ability to learn quickly and flexible in fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in GI space such as microbiome
  • Relevant industry experience in Genomics field is a must
  • Extensive experience in next generation sequencing platform is highly desirable
  • Hands on experience with biomarker assay development using various genomictechnologiesusing clinical specimens
  • Experience with microbiome specimens is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills


  • BS (10+)/MS(5+) or PhD(2+) with 2-5yrs of industry experience


  • Willingness to travel to various meetings, corporate partners, additional Takeda sites.
  • Requires approximately 10% travel.
