This position is accountable for developing and implementing the Healthcare Professional (HCP) Saxenda® Promotional Strategy and driving the coordination of the overall Saxenda Brand marketing strategy. In coordination with members of the Saxenda Brand team and the global team, as well as close coordination with the Chief Patient Officer/Obesity Management team, develop and implement effective plans in order to maximize revenue, market share, and achieve/exceed profitability goals. Champions team integration across the brand to ensure execution alignment. Participates on cross-functional teams and interacts extensively with other functions within Novo Nordisk.
Reports to the Senior Brand Director. Works closely with colleagues in the Obesity Management, Patient Engagement & Advocacy, Commercial Effectiveness, and Brand Team. Works in close collaboration with other departments such as Field Commercial Effectiveness, Field Commercial Leadership, Customer Relationship Marketing, Professional Relations, Trade and Government, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal personnel as well as participating on global teams for Saxenda. External relationships include those with key thought leaders and professional services vendors such as agencies, consultants, etc.
Lead and drive development of HCP promotional strategy content for Saxenda® performance reviews. Develop in-depth market analyses by driving market research activities and HCP Medical Marketing efforts. Drive ATU design and summarize learnings to drive brand performance. Leads development, analysis/interpretation and communication of sales force effectiveness study to drive brand performance. Leads Saxenda/HCP strategy’s execution assessment, performance monitoring, and KPI/Metrics establishment to drive and ensure brand performance. Leads Interface strategy recommendation through critical analysis of Archetypes 2.0 and HCP Segmentation 2.0. Ensures Interface strategic execution alignment and Saxenda® promotional slide development. Sets measurement criteria and monitors/communicates performance. In partnership with the Obesity Management team and Field Commercial Execution. Drives strategy and execution for NP/PA Ambassador Program (aka NP/PA peer-to- peer programs) by partnering with Compliance and Legal business partner, Obesity Management & HCP engagement, Field Commercial Execution and Marketing colleagues. Develops content and works with professional associations to review/gain endorsement from AANP/AAPA. Develops strategic needs and content for Saxenda® Ad Board/Consultant meetings. Develops/coordinates content development and executes with preferred suppliers. Coordinates necessary label updates across all Saxenda® promotional material (HCP/Patient). Develops and monitors performance against brand budget. Ensures budgets and commitments remain on track throughout fiscal calendar and RE process. Evaluates appropriate use of resources to ensure attainment of unit, department and Company profitability goals.
20-30% overnight travel required.
* A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA preferred
* 10+ years progressive pharmaceutical industry experience required, of which 2+ years were as a Senior Brand Manager/Associate Director or equivalent
* 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience; successful new product launch experience in a marketing role preferred
* Prior pharmaceutical sales experience with progressive roles is preferred
* Prior analytical roles (e.g. market research, analysis/planning, finance, consulting) or demonstrated analytical skills strongly preferred
* Outstanding planning and organizational skills with exceptionally high attention to quality of detail and proven track record of results and follow-up
* Proven track record in new product marketing preferred
* Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical marketplace including U.S. medical, regulatory, legal and clinical processes
