Job Description Purpose

Leads technology planning and execution efforts through the development of the Clinical Trial Management Technology strategy with recommendations to the Senior Management Team. Supports successful clinical trials by managing a portfolio of complex Information Technology systems, including development and execution of a Clinical Trial Management technology strategy, user support, training, and contribution to project teams and advisory boards.

Relationships

Reports to the Associate - Clinical Trial Management Planning and Analysis. Interacts directly with management and staff across levels and functions within the department. Collaborates closely with Novo Nordisk IT to align plans, support and execution of the Technology strategy. Collaborates closely with global technology and Clinical Operations staff, including through participation on system and change advisory boards. Oversees the dozen local technology systems Clinical Trial Management utilizes in daily clinical trial operations to ensure integration and support across the department.

Essential Functions:

Project Support: Acts as a system expert for Clinical Trial Management technology systems. Drive and coordinate support to study teams by means of training, troubleshooting, gathering feedback, and conducting lessons learned through the creation of a Super User and Subject Matter Expert network. Prioritizes, queues, and ensures effective completion of technology initiatives. Responsible for planning and execution of technology. Responsible for ensuring system and technology support is provided to Clinical Trial Management for business purposes. Aligns systems, tools, and strategies with other local and global initiatives to ensure they are most effective. Leads, develops, executes and drives a Clinical Trial Management Technology strategy and gains endorsement from the Senior Management Team. Directs the Super User and Subject Matter Expert support network within IMPACT, Business Objects, EDC, IWRS and other critical systems.
Manages technology change projects and ensures effective communication of process and system changes to stakeholders. Manages technology contracts, governance, and documentation. and oversees user training initiatives and conducts training programs. Owns and manages Clinical Trial Management technologies and systems. Super User and Subject Matter Expert for IMPACT, EDC, and similar clinical trial systems.
Team Coordination: Accountable for compliance and quality of CATS reporting. Active membership to local and global project teams. Assists with ensuring that quality of performance is in accordance with departmental expectations for function. Attends relevant team and department meetings, forums, conferences and scientific meetings, as necessary. Identifies, leads, develops, supports and communicates functional, departmental or organizational initiatives. Participates in cross-functional teams locally/globally to assure timely attainment of project milestones. Provides support for the implementation of continuous improvement processes for role and/or function. Responsible for conducting oneself in accordance with expectations as a project team member to ensure the success of a matrix management structure. Responsible to maintain focus for specific project activities within Clinical Trial Management priorities.

Physical Requirements:

0-10% overnight travel required. If located within 50 miles of the Plainsboro, NJ office this is an office-based position.

Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree required
* A minimum of Nine years of progressively responsible relevant experience required, with at least Four years in Information Technology support, management, training or user interface.
* Analytical, negotiation, cross-functional team and leadership skills required
* Demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of technologies, including planning, prioritization, support, and maintenance
* Demonstrated experience providing direct user support and leading training initiatives
* Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service focus
* Proven ability to easily grasp and master new software and hardware technologies
