Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, NC next to our existing facility that employs 800 people. The new plant will initially employ 700 employees to produce the active ingredients for a new diabetes oral treatment and a range of other diabetes drugs.

Position Purpose: Establish & manage all aspects of Maintenance & Metrology Planning, Spare Parts Management Program & the Reliability Engineering Program for the DAPI-US project & ongoing operations.

Accountabilities:
Establish and manage all planning systems and personnel for site-wide maintenance and metrology activities.
Establish and manage all spare parts management systems and inventory.
Establish and manage the Reliability Engineering program.
Establish, develop, maintain and optimize PM, QM & MM structure, configuration & master data within SAP.
Support maintenance & metrology departments, as well as equipment owners in developing maintenance & metrology procedures for processes, including actions, intervals & spare parts.
Coaching & mentoring of direct reports.
Ensure maintenance & metrology planning processes are standardized across site.
Establish, develop, maintain, & optimize spare parts inventory & processes to support 24/7 operations.
Manage external contracts for services & equipment owned by the department.
Support site shutdown planning & execution when in operations.
Ensure good communication & positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
Drive continuous process improvements using cLEAN® or Six Sigma tools.
Other accountabilities as assigned.

Education: Mandatory
BA/BS in engineering/related field or equivalent (experience + education).

Experience:
10+ years of maintenance &/ or metrology planning experience in pharmaceutical industry. Mandatory
5+ years management experience.
Experience with large project scope & execution.

Technical/Process/Functional Knowledge:
Knowledgeable in the following systems: pharmaceutical processes (fermentation, recovery, purification), utility systems (clean & black), maintenance planning. Mandatory
Demonstrated knowledge of SAP PM, QM & MM modules.

Organization/Planning: Mandatory

* Proven expertise in developing/planning/organization/execution of metrology systems & activities.
* Creation of work plans for complex projects/plans being executed by cross functional teams.

Physical & Other Requirements:
Ability to work in & around an active construction site during project phase.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with assistance.
Ability to work in confined spaces & near operating equipment.
Ability to work in loud noise environments.
Ability to travel internationally.
Ability to work hours necessary to support production/maintenance.
