Novo Nordisk is currently building a new diabetes API plant in Clayton, NC next to our existing facility that employs 800 people. The new plant will initially employ 700 employees to produce the active ingredients for a new diabetes oral treatment and a range of other diabetes drugs.

Here you will work with the best manufacturing professionals in the industry, while learning and taking part in the plant design.
Position Purpose: Establish & manage the metrology department, personnel & systems for the DAPI-US project, transition into operations & full production operations.
Establish and manage all instrumentation & metrology systems to support DAPI-US project activities & ongoing activities when in operations.
Planning & coordination of calibration activities for approximately 8,000 instruments.
Establish, develop, maintain & optimize QM structure, configuration & data within SAP.
Coaching & mentoring of direct reports.
BA/BS in engineering/related field or equivalent (experience + education).
15+ years experience in metrology, engineering & / or manufacturing, with specific experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing or other regulated industries. Mandatory
5+ years management experience.
Experience with large project scope & execution.
Knowledgeable in the following systems: Instrumentation, Controls, Process Improvement Methodologies, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Pharmaceutical Processes & Utilities.
Ensure execution of calibration activities on time, to standard & with minimal impact on operations.
Identify & manage all metrology standards for the site.
Ensure cGMP’s are integrated into Metrology systems.
Ensure current industry & regulatory practices are incorporated in Metrology processes & systems.
Ensure good communication & positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
Drive improvements to maintenance processes & activities using cLEAN® methodology.
Other accountabilities as assigned.
Proven expertise in developing/planning/organization/execution of metrology systems & activities.
Creation of work plans for complex projects/plans being executed by cross functional teams.
Additional Information Physical & Other Requirements:
* Ability to work in & around an active construction site during project phase.
* Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with assistance.
* Ability to work in confined spaces & near operating equipment.
* Ability to work in loud noise environments.
* Ability to travel internationally.
* Ability to work hours necessary to support production & maintenance activities.
