The Director Launch Excellence is accountable for overseeing and coordinating launch readiness and operations plans towards ensuring highly efficient and effective introductions of new products, indications, line extensions, and key customer-facing initiatives.
The Director Launch Excellence works closely with other members of the Marketing, Sales and Key Accounts teams as well as cross-functional partners across Novartis, including PLS, Medical, Manufacturing, Market Access, and others. He / she administers the overall governance process and coordinates activities with key members of the partner organization.
The incumbent develops and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manages multiple project plans, tracks resources and requests, and reviews status reports (accomplishments, upcoming deliverables, and issues, actual vs. baseline). The incumbent ensures cross-functional communication and alignment; identifies activities at risk, and recommends and/or drives actions to address.
Develops and establishes a Launch Readiness framework that includes Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) for products, major new indications and line extensions from launch -24 months through launch
Directs, manages and guides the LRR process within Novartis, and in coordination with external partners
Assists in the development of brand launch strategies, including providing insights and best practices to Marketing and field teams
Assists in the development of internal launch-related communications
Develops and maintains the launch preparedness calendar, including skill-needs and curricula for field teams
Continually researches best practices in launch preparation and execution, including perusal, assessment and documentation of Novartis and industry launches
Creates and manages a Novartis NS launch warehouse, that includes LRR guidance, sample launch plans, lessons learned and the like
Conducts post-launch diagnostic monitoring to ensure rapid and agile tactical adjustments
Maintains close relationships with other members of the Marketing, Sales and Key Accounts teams as well as cross-functional partners across Novartis, including PLS, Medical, Manufacturing, Market Access, and others. Also, in cases where external partners are involved, with key members of the partner organization.

Bachelor s Degree (Masters/MBA preferred)
7-10 years Pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing experience
o Field Sales experience required (min. 2 years)
o Product Management experience required, including launches (min 2 years)
o Project Management certification or accreditation desired
