To provide strategic enterprise leadership across external/internal communications, advocacy, and social media by partnering with critical functions and stakeholders across the organization to sup-port US Pharma and Franchises business objectives for the Cardiovascular Franchise.
Strategic communications partnering and counsel. As member of Franchise Leadership teams, lead the development and implementation of franchise communication strategy and plans to support the Franchise strategy, business and employee focused change management, field communications, initiatives, and brands, and measure effectiveness of efforts.
Team Leadership/Project Management - Partner with Communications & Patient Advocacy team members to develop and drive execution of all programs. Effective execution through strategic project leadership, implementation and resource allocation. Build team and provide feedback and coaching, while ensuring development. Create high performing culture by supporting and integrating the Novartis Values & Behaviors.
Strategic external communications for brands. Develops and implements public relations programs for in-line, pre-launch, and launch brands with a focus on Entresto. Close coordination and collaboration with worldwide franchise on strategy and execution to ensure alignment with global and local strategy.
Internal Communications/Employee Engagement Partners with Franchise Head to support communications, employee engagement and culture for full franchise including field-based associates.
Issues management and change communications: Develop and implement strategic communications plan to support issues or change management initiatives impacting the Franchise that minimize disruption, support quick uptake and protect Company reputation
Performance Management Partnering with team to develop metrics to assess impact of key initiatives. Measures outcomes and adapt and evolve strategy. Financial assessment of agencies, measuring outcomes against objectives.
Global Stakeholder Collaboration: Understand the global Novartis organization, competitors and stakeholders that are of importance to the company. Build strong, collaborative relationships with global franchise and function to enable effective strategy planning and implementation. Adapt global programs for local execution. Coordinates with other NPC functions on communications issues related to the Franchise as needed.
Agency/Partner Management - Identify, manage and motivate agency partners as needed to deliver strategic, relevant and innovative programs to stakeholders; manage relationships and ensure best teams and talent in place to support the business.
Member of US Pharma Communications & Patient Advocacy Leadership Team Co-develop and own overall strategy of Communications & Patient Advocacy department as member of High Performing leadership team. Share responsibility for departmental impact on business objectives.

Bachelors or equivalent 4-Year university degree required. Concentration communications, public relations, marketing, social/digital media or related discipline preferred.
Fluent English, other languages desirable
> 12 Years experience in communications or related field with strong emphasis on governmental affairs, patient advocacy, marketing, external communications, digital and social media
Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
Strong experience in developing and coordinating integrated communications/marketing plans
Strong matrix management and influencing skills to manage complex, multiple issues and projects
Relationship management demonstrated ability to build trust in all stakeholders and influence decision making across business
Business acumen insightful understanding of the industry and how it is evolving
