This person will develop and maintain professional relationships with managed market customers by serving as a comprehensive scientific/medical/managed care expert supporting the full portfolio within the Oncology Business Unit.
Sustained identification, development, and maintenance of managed care customers and accounts in order to facilitate discussion around access to our medical, health policy, & health economic data and information.
Collecting insights that help advance the development of our portfolio while leading, developing & executing medical account plans for assigned customers.
Ensuring the appropriate strategies and tactics are developed/implemented and customized to meet the needs of a dynamic customer base, under the guidance of the National Director.
Tailoring scientific product information that meets the needs of all customers in support of national medical strategies in a compliant manner.
Collaborating with home office teams to interpret medical and payer value evidence across the Novartis oncology, hematology and rare disease portfolio.
Offering a sense of urgency and customer service in a timely, ethical and focused manner.
Accounts may include but not limited to National, Regional, Specialty Pharmacy, PBMs, Integrated Delivery Networks, Medicaid, VA/DOD, medical experts and other managed systems of care.
The levels within role (AD/Director) perform the job with increasing levels of competency and independence.
Territory covers: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and New York.

Advanced degree required; doctoral degree preferred. Managed care experience highly preferred. Demonstrated technical and scientific expertise in Oncology is strongly preferred. An additional degree in health economics, health outcomes, health policy or public health, preferred. Field based medical experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred. Thorough knowledge of managed care, pharmacoeconomics, disease management, and medical research, preferred. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are required. Strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities (including ability to network) and a customer focus are necessary. Must have the ability and knowledge to effectively communicate critical medical, scientific and business information to internal stakeholders as well as customers in the medical community. Must possess a thorough understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPAA and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry to ensure compliance with these external as well as internal guidelines and standard operating procedures. Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
Must have the ability to gain medical insights, uncover business opportunities for Novartis and leverage internal resources to meet customer needs aligned with Novartis strategy.
Must be a strong team player who can effectively work cross-functionally in a matrix environment, including collaboration with clinical and commercial personnel as necessary.
Strong working knowledge of the organization of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to interface effectively with a variety of technical platforms for the collection, review, and
dissemination of medical information.
This is a field based, customer facing position that is associated with approximately 60-70% travel.
