Novartis Oncology is a leader in discovering, developing and marketing innovative drugs for patients with cancer and, due to rapid growth, we are seeking a board certified oncologist/hematologist with BMT experience and Clinical Research experience and interest to join our successful and growing US CDMA organization.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic medical and scientific leadership in the CTL019 program, including new therapeutic areas. This position encompasses national studies and research projects. The candidate will also be involved in any US launch activities related to CTL019.
The successful candidate will direct US clinical activities including:
Providing medical input into clinical trial strategies and FDA interactions
Developing the US clinical strategy and plan to integrate Novartis Oncology compounds into standard oncology practice.
Working cross-functionally with global oncology to define, plan and implement exploratory studies in the U.S.
Analyzing data from U.S. clinical trials and producing reports.
Participating in strategic planning as part of Marketing, Clinical Development or Global Oncology teams where appropriate.
Extensive interactions with academic thought leaders, investigators and cooperative groups to optimize clinical trial strategies.
Educating colleagues within the company as well as health care professionals outside the company related to assigned compounds, where appropriate.

Minimum requirements MD required. Board certified oncologist/hematologist required.
Advanced knowledge of Oncology/Hematology/BMT required.
Board certification or eligibility in medical Oncology, Hematology and/or BMT, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Industry experience (3-5 yrs) preferred, but not mandatory
Scientific medical research experience in Hematology or Oncology with demonstrated record of scientific medical publications preferred.
Understanding of aspects of clinical research as part of the drug development process.
Experience designing and/or executing clinical studies.
Superior leadership, networking, collaboration and communication skills with interest in medical affairs activities.
Thorough understanding and respect for regulations and legal guidelines.
It is anticipated that travel in the USA of approximately 30-40% of the time will be required.
